LinkedIn’s New Ad Network. Are They More Valuable Than Facebook?
-
- LinkedIn, the social network for the business world, is starting their own ad network.
- They currently command some of the highest ad rates online, charging $30 per thousand impressions on display ads and an average of $15 per thousand impressions on text ads for their own site.
- LinkedIn has 27m members (64% male), averaging 41 years of age and $110,000 in the bank.
- Publishers with a similar user demo can apply to join the network, which says it can generate higher CPM than other networks because of high advertiser relevancy.
- LinkedIn will be able to recognize its own users that visit partner sites and can help target the ads they see based on their current profile information. (They do this for their own site as well)
- LinkedIn is currently valued at $1b.
Could LinkedIn eclipse Facebook as the most valuable social network in the next 5 years?
